Bulletproof Coffee Recipe

Last Updated on: April 9, 2019 by Mark Volmer

Ingredients for Bulletproof Coffee

  • 1-2 tbsp grass-fed butter or grass-fed ghee
  • 1-2 tbsp MCT Oil
  • 1 scoop grass-fed collagen
  • 1-2 cups (250-500ml) of hot coffee

Equipment Required

  • French press, espresso, pour over, a coffee brew of choice
  • Blender (Just utilizing a spoon to mix/blend won’t work)
  • Your favorite coffee mug

Steps to make Bulletproof Coffee

#1 Measure out ingredients for your coffee: Measure out any ingredients into a jar before starting the process to ensure coffee stays as hot as possible

#2 Make Coffee: Brew coffee as you normally would using a metal filter (if possible)

#3 Pre-heat blender: While your coffee is brewing, boil extra water and pour it into the blender and your coffee mug in order to pre-heat.

#4 Froth: Once your coffee is finished brewing, dump the hot water from the blender and add your brewed coffee, butter, and MCT oil. Blend all ingredients until there is a thick layer of foam on top like a latte. The stronger the blender, the better.

#5 Optional: Add canned coconut milk, cinnamon, pure vanilla, dark chocolate, cayenne, or a sweetener like Stevia, erythritol, or xylitol (this is technically a sacrilege if you use good quality beans, but some people love their flavored coffees…)

#6 Enjoy!
